LOWER EAST SIDE — A man who told a group loitering outside his Rivington Street apartment to lower their voices just before 2 a.m. on Sunday met with violence, police said.

The 20-year-old victim left his apartment near Clinton Street at around 1:58 a.m. to tell the unruly group that they were being loud while people were trying to sleep, according to a police report.

When the victim told the group to lower their voices, a male member of the group told him to "shut the f--- up," then punched him on both sides of his face, according to authorities.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing, authorities said.
