BATTERY PARK CITY — The cozy, 28-seat restaurant inside bustling French market Le District has earned a coveted seal of approval in the food world.
L'Appart — a shortening of the word for apartment in French — was awarded one star from Michelin's newly released 2017 guide to city restaurants.
The small restaurant, also referred to as "the chef's apartment" is meant to offer elegant food in a comfortable atmosphere, where guests sit in a space akin to a home's living room, with views of the eatery's open kitchen.
Diners are served up a six-course, French inspired tasting menu, made from the plethora of seasonal and imported French ingredients available inside Le District.
Michelin, a French guide that's been rating restaurants for more than a century, awards one, two and three stars for select eateries across the city.
In TriBeCa, two other restaurants also made the Michelin cut: modern American eatery Atera once again earned two stars, and creative French restaurant Batard kept its one-star rank.
