MIDTOWN — Pro- and anti-Donald Trump groups both gathered outside his Midtown tower Wednesday, the morning after the Republican candidate's stunning presidential election victory.
About 50 protesters stood behind a barricade outside Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue and 56th Street, some banging on paint buckets while chanting, “Donald Trump go away, racist, sexist, anti-gay.”
One expressed remorse about not doing more during the election.
But a supporter stood on the sidewalk holding a Trump campaign placard.
A group called “Blacks For Trump” also stood outside the building celebrating.
Other protesters vowed to keep up their fight.
Additional demonstrations were planned throughout the city Wednesday evening.
