DUMBO — An ex-boyfriend stabbed his former girlfriend twice with a knife near Brooklyn Bridge Park last week, according to police.

Fernando Perez, 26, got into an argument with his ex on Friday, Nov. 4, around 7 p.m. near Washington and Water streets in DUMBO, police said.

Perez stabbed the 23-year-old woman with a knife in her left forearm and on the lower right side of her back, police said. The victim was also punched and choked in the incident.

Perez was arrested shortly after 10 p.m. that night near Old Fulton and Furman streets and charged with felony assault, police said.

Attorney information was not immediately available. His next court appearance is scheduled for Monday, court records show.

According to NY1, the woman helped police officers make the arrest after planning a second meeting a few blocks from the scene of the crime.

Park officials say that the victim sought shelter in the bathrooms at Pier 1, but referred further requests for comment to the police.
