DUMBO — Lower East Side ice cream sandwich shop Melt Bakery will soon be serving up sweets from a small space on Front Street.

Melt Bakery signed a five-year lease for a 70-square-foot, ground-floor space at 111 Front St., according to co-founder Julian Plynter and the Wall Street Journal.

"We're really really excited to be in DUMBO and to have our first toehold in Brooklyn," he said.

The shop will sell frozen treats from the tiny new space, but production will continue to be based out of its 132 Orchard St. outpost, Plynter said.

Plynter said customers can expect to find the same flavors featured at the Lower East Side shop and that prices will stay at $5 per sandwich.

Ice cream sandwiches include the “Classic” (chocolate chip walnut cookies with vanilla ice cream), the “Lovelet” (red velvet meltcakes and cream cheese ice cream), the “Jack” (molasses cookies and pumpkin pie ice cream), and the “Prairie Dawn” (blueberry muffin cookies and sweet corn ice cream).

Asking rent for the Front Street space was $135 a square foot, he noted.

The address features a 14-foot-tall glass window on Front Street, so the shop will be painting an eye-catching design on the back wall that's visible to passersby, he added.

An opening date has yet to be set for the new location.
