WILLIAMSBURG — The waterfront Domino Sugar development could be transformed into a skatepark surrounded by gleaming offices and a bustling streetscape, according to new renderings.
The designs come from the Norwegian design studio Mir, tasked by Domino's developer Two Trees with customizing the commercial spaces inside the Refinery.
The city landmark that once processed Domino Sugar and will soon will hold around 600,000 square feet of office space. It should be ready for tenants in 2019, according to Curbed which first reported the new renderings.
Jovana Rizzo, a spokeswoman for Two Trees, said she couldn't yet confirm who those tenants might be.
The sprawling Domino development will include public parkland, about 700 affordable apartments, a public high school and rec center and around 1,500 market rate apartments, according to plans. It will take between six and eight years to complete.
A first batch of apartments will be ready for residents some time next year, Rizzo said.
