MARINERS HARBOR — A 68-year-old woman found dead in the basement of her home Tuesday morning had been eaten by her two  dogs, a report said.

Police responded to a call of an unconscious woman in a Simonson Avenue home at 9:40 a.m. and found Daisie Bradshaw with bruises and cuts on her body, the NYPD said.

EMS workers pronounced Bradshaw dead at the scene, police said.

Investigators think Bradshaw died of natural causes in her basement and her two dogs started to eat her afterwards to stay alive, the New York Daily News reported. It is unclear how long ago she'd died.

The Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death and police said an investigation is ongoing.
