UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS — A school bus driver fatally struck a woman who was crossing a Bronx intersection, police said.
Carmen Puello, 43, was crossing Sedgwick Avenue near West Fordham Road in the crosswalk around 12:25 p.m. Friday when a 47-year-old school bus driver made a right turn onto the street and hit her, according to the NYPD.
The bus knocked Puello to the ground and ran over her, according to authorities.
She was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said.
No one has been arrested for the incident, and the investigation is ongoing, police said Monday.
