MIDTOWN — Police are searching for a man who placed a skimming device on an ATM to steal users' bank account information at a Midtown hotel.
A surveillance camera captured the man installing the device on an ATM inside the InterContinental New York Barclay Hotel at 111 E. 48th St., between Park and Lexington avenues, around 10:30 p.m. on Aug. 17, the NYPD said.
Four days later, on Aug. 21, someone went into the hotel to use the ATM around 10 a.m., discovered the device and told the hotel’s security staff, police said.

Police are now searching for an approximately 30- to 35-year-old male, standing 6 feet who was last seen wearing light-colored shorts, a striped white-and-blue shirt with a picture on the front of it, white sneakers and a blue baseball cap.
A spokeswoman for the InterContinental on Friday said hotel security "quickly identified the device, and immediately addressed the matter."
"As such, no credit cards were affected," she added.
