HUDSON SQUARE — An attacker wearing a Derek Jeter “Re2pect” hat got into a verbal spat with another man inside a West Houston Street subway station before tossing him over a turnstile and breaking his arm, police said Wednesday.

The 20-year-old victim was waiting for an Uber cab Sept. 22 around 3:40 a.m. when a man approached him demanding cash, the NYPD said.

The victim refused and walked to the Houston Street 1 train stop, but the other man followed him, police said.

They got into a verbal dispute before the attacker tossed him over the turnstile, breaking his arm, the NYPD said.

The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital for his injury. The attacker fled in an unknown direction, police said.

He’s described as between 20 and 30 years old with brown eyes and black hair.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
