BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — A man shot his girlfriend to death inside their Gates Avenue apartment, then turned the gun on himself in a murder-suicide Wednesday morning, police said.
Felicita Sotillo, 38, was fatally shot in the head by her 41-year-old boyfriend inside their apartment at 745 Gates Ave., near Lewis Avenue, about 12:10 a.m., the NYPD said.
The boyfriend, who has not yet been identified by police, then fired a fatal bullet into his own head, NYPD officials said.
Neighbors said Sotillo was a doting mother to two pre-school-aged kids.
"She was very sweet — a beautiful young lady," neighbor Virginia Jackson, 80, said. "I saw her yesterday coming from the church with the two kids."
A gun was recovered inside the apartment, police said.
