CHELSEA — A stranger randomly stabbed a man in the neck inside an adult video store, police said.
The 56-year-old victim was walking through the aisles inside 725 Video at 725 Sixth Ave., between West 23rd and 24th streets, around 1 a.m. Saturday when a man he didn’t know came up behind him and stabbed him in the neck with an “unknown” blunt object, the NYPD said.
The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, police said.
Neither of the men were store employees, and there was no indication that they knew each other, the NYPD said.
Police are now searching for a suspect in his 20s who was wearing a sweatshirt, a blue jogging jacket and blue jeans at the time of the attack.
An employee working at the store on Monday said he heard about the incident but wasn’t there when it happened.
The store’s manager could not immediately be reached for comment.
