MORRISANIA — A pair of men were found pushing a granny cart loaded with assault rifles through the Bronx, police said.

Bobby Hamlin, 41, and Jesus Rodriguez, 43, were by 852 Jackson Ave. on Thursday around 9:55 p.m. with a shopping cart holding a Hesse AK-47 assault rifle and an SKS 7.62 MM, according to court documents and the NYPD.

Both suspects have been arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

Hamlin and Rodriguez have each been arrested 11 times before on charges including trespassing and criminal possession of a controlled substance. Both have also been convicted of robbery, according to the NYPD and court documents.

They were moving the rifles from one place to another, but officials are unsure how they got the weapons and what they were planning to do with them, police said.

Hamlin was ordered held on $10,000 bail bond or $1,500 cash bail, and Rodriguez was ordered held on $25,000 bail bond or $25,000 cash bail, according to the Bronx District Attorney's Office. Both are still at Rikers Island.
