QUEENS — An off-duty NYPD lieutenant shot himself several times in the stomach in eastern Queens Friday afternoon, officials and sources said.
The shooting happened at Cloverdale Boulevard near Kingsbury Avenue at about 4:10 p.m., an FDNY spokesman said. The lieutenant was taken to North Shore University Hospital.
His wounds were not considered life threatening, an NYPD spokesman said.
