DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — Police are hunting for a man who escaped his parole officers as they were trying to arrest him on a warrant in Downtown Brooklyn, authorities said.
Officers were trying to arrest 27-year-old Moise Ferdinand, who’s on probation for marijuana possession, just before noon on Tuesday inside the parole office at 345 Adams St., according to the NYPD and Department of Probation.
As he was being arrested on a warrant for a Long Island car theft, the suspect shoved a 50-year-old parole officer and fled, according to police and the Daily News.
The parole officer suffered minor back injuries and was treated at a nearby hospital, police said.
“The New York City Department of Probation is working with NYPD to locate the individual and complete the execution of the warrant," a spokeswoman said in a statement.
The suspect, described as standing 6-foot-5, was last seen wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and multi-colored sneakers, police said.
