FORT GREENE — A pair of men were arrested for stealing cash and a cellphone from a 20-year-old man after threatening him with a knife and hitting him in the face, police said.

Goodwin Dior, 29, and Gershome Johnson, 33, approached the victim at 3 a.m. on Sunday near Adelphi Street and Myrtle Avenue, authorities said.

The suspects then took out a blade and struck the victim in the face before shoving him up against a wall, police said.

Goodwin and Johnson grabbed the man's Android cellphone and $50 in cash before taking off, police said.

Police were able to catch up with the suspects and arrest them.

Both were charged with criminal possession of a weapon, robbery, grand larceny, attempted assault, assault, petit larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, menacing and harassment, court documents show.

“That seems to be what they’re alleging; I don’t think that [the police] were there,” said Johnson’s attorney, Rick LaFontaine, of the allegations.

Dior’s attorney did not immediately respond to request for comment.

Johnson is being held on $4,000 bond, while Dior was released on $3,000 bond.

Both men are due back in court on Friday.
