Barfight Breaks Out at Gaslight Lounge in Meatpacking District, Police Say

MEATPACKING DISTRICT — Two men got into a fistfight at the bar at Gaslight Lounge, police said.

The men started arguing at the 400 West 14th St. nightspot about 3:25 a.m. on Sept. 4, police said.

One man, 36, punched the other, 24, in the right eye and nose, causing bleeding, a bone fracture, bruising and swelling, police said.

The 36-year-old was arrested and charged with assault with intent to cause physical injury, assault recklessly causing physical injury and attempted assault with intent to cause physical injury, all misdemeanors.

He was also given a violation for harassment for physical contact.

He was released at his arraignment without bail and is due back in court Oct. 26.

HIs attorney did not immediately respond to a voicemail seeking comment. The general manager at Gaslight also did not immediately respond to a voicemail seeking comment.
