New Yorkers are standing proud for taco trucks.

On Thursday during an MSNBC segment Marco Guitierrez, the founder of Latinos for Trump and a Donald Trump surrogate, warned against Mexican immigration to the U.S. by saying "If you don't do something about it you're going to have taco trucks on every corner."

MSNBC host Joy-Ann Reid stopped the conversation, saying that "I don't even know what that means."

Uptown State Sen. Adriano Espaillat, who was also a guest on the segment, called the message of the Trump campaign "a terrible moment for this discourse."

Guitierrez sparked an outpouring of sarcasm on social media with people on Twitter using the hashtag #TacoTrucksOnEveryCorner. New Yorkers took up the taco truck cause in a big way.
