NEW YORK CITY — The city is launching a new interactive campaign aimed at getting feedback from New Yorkers on how it can better utilize Governors Island.

The initiative, dubbed #GovIsland365, is hoping to get city residents to imagine the island as a year-round destination to work, play and learn.

The campaign features a public art installation by artist Amber Rae called the “Cube,” a chalkboard that will be on display at Soissons Landing until Sept. 25.

“To fully realize Governors Island's potential as a year-round asset for all New Yorkers, we need to think outside the box – or in this case, the Cube,” EDC President Maria Torres-Springer said.

“That is why we are excited to launch #GovIsland365, an interactive way for us to hear directly from New Yorkers how they want to work, play, and learn on Governors Island."

City residents are encouraged to write their ideas on the 3-D chalkboard and complete a survey at govisland.com/365.

Earlier this year, Mayor Bill de Blasio said the city was hoping to make the island open to the public year round.
