WEST VILLAGE — St. John's Lutheran Church is launching a new fall concert series under the guidance of their new music director/organist, Janet Chung.
The first performance, set for 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 1, features French World musician Gerald Toto. Tickets are $10.
The church is donating their space at 81 Christopher St. for the performances, so proceeds from the ticket sales go to the artists.
The next performance, on Sept. 15, features Chung herself playing classical organ music. That performance is also $10.
Here's the rest of the lineup for the concert series:
Sept. 22: Lara Bello plays Spanish World music. Tickets are $10.
Oct. 6: The Jay Rattman Quartet plays modern jazz. Tickets are $10.
Oct. 20: Mike Davis' New Wonders plays traditional jazz. Tickets are $10.
Nov. 3: The Cyrus von Hochstetter and Austin Becker Duo play contemporary classical music. Tickets are $5 for seniors, $15 for adults.
Nov. 17: The Alex LoRe Quartet plays modern jazz. Tickets are $10.
Dec. 1: Canticuum Scholare plays choral early music. Tickets are $5 for seniors, $15 for adults.
Dec. 11: The annual Messiah Sing-in is free, with a 5 p.m. rehearsal and a 7 p.m. sing-in.
All concerts start at 7:30 p.m.
