CROWN HEIGHTS — More than $5,000 in designer sneakers, belts and cologne were stolen from an Empire Boulevard storage unit this week, police said, the second such burglary at the facility this year.

A 31-year-old man reported to police that someone stole 12 pairs of sneakers from his unit at Stop & Stor at 200 Empire Blvd., including six pairs of Jordans, four pairs of Nikes, one pair of Kanye West’s Yeezy brand shoes (worth $250) and one pair of $600 Louis Vuitton sneakers.

Also missing were three Gucci belts and two bottles of Tom Ford cologne. In total, the burglar made off with more than $5,100 in property.

It’s unclear when exactly the burglary took place. The victim told police he found the items gone when he visited his Stop & Stor unit at 4 p.m. on Aug. 27.

This is not the first time men’s designer footwear has gone missing from the storage spot. In May, a 28-year-old man told police six pairs of his sneakers were taken from his Stop & Stor unit, including three pairs of Air Jordans, one pair of Air Force Ones and two pairs of Nikes. A Playstation and laptop also went missing, totaling $2,770 in property stolen.

Stop & Stor declined to comment on the burglaries. On their website, the New York-based self-storage chain say security is their “number one priority” and advertise offer 24-hour, on-site personnel, door alarms and computerized locks.
