The luxury Beekman Hotel — built inside a landmarked 1890s building with a soaring atrium — officially opened Tuesday, and it's already a hit on on Instagram.
It's easy to see why:
The impressive 9-story atrium is the lofty centerpiece of an old office building at 123 Nassau St. that carries a hefty dose of classic old New York.
Overhauled by Thompson Hotels, which also owns TriBeCa's Smyth hotel, the upscale Beekman now has 287 rooms, with rates that start at $500 a night.
The elegant space is also home to two restaurants, a 94-seat French eatery run by restaurateur Keith McNally, called Augustine, and the Tom Colicchio-run Fowler and Wells, which has a pretty great view of the atrium.

An adjoining luxury condo tower, with 68 apartments is also being built. The 51-story building is expected to be completed sometime in the second quarter of 2016. Those residences, priced at $1.2 to $4 million, are still on the market.
