MEATPACKING DISTRICT — A woman punched another woman in the face during a fight at the bar in the Jane Hotel, police said.

Police said the 29-year-old victim was sitting at a table inside the bar at 113 Jane St. about 1:50 a.m. on Aug. 7 when she and a 40-year-old woman got into an argument.

The 40-year-old woman, who was wearing black shorts, black high heels and a gold top, punched the other woman in the face, causing bruising and swelling to her nose, according to authorities.

The victim was taken to Lenox Health Greenwich Village for medical attention, police said.

The 40-year-old woman was arrested and charged with assault with intent to cause physical injury, assault recklessly causing physical injury and attempted assault with intent to cause physical injury, all misdemeanors.

She was also issued a violation for harassment in the second degree, court records show.

The judge at her arraignment released her without bail and she is due back in court Aug. 22. Her attorney Russ Novack said he is “fully confident we’re going to win” the case.

A manager at the Jane Hotel bar declined to comment.
