TRIBECA — A man walking along Hudson Street was hit in the face after he refused to give money to a would-be robber, police said.

The victim was approached by a man at Hudson and Thomas streets, at about 11:05 p.m. on July 29. The suspect told the victim to "give me your money," police said.

When the victim refused to hand over cash, the man punched him in the nose, causing "substantial pain," according to a police report. The aggressor then fled down the street, police said.

Police were still investigating the incident.
