HELL'S KITCHEN — A gay bar patron's leg was broken by a group of men who followed him down the street shouting anti-gay slurs, the NYPD said.
The 25-year-old victim, from Brooklyn, told police he had just left the second-floor gay bar Vodka Soda at 315 W. 46th St., between Eighth and Ninth avenues, around 3:30 a.m. on July 17 when five men started following him down the street yelling homophobic slurs in Spanish.
When he reached Ninth Avenue, between West 45th and West 46th streets, the men started punching and kicking him, leaving his leg broken in two places, the NYPD said.
After the suspects fled the scene, the man was taken to Bellevue Hospital by taxi, police said.
He was only able to recall what two of his attackers looked like, the NYPD said.
A Vodka Soda manager could not immediately be reached for comment Monday.
