Man Shoots 75-Year-Old Woman in Leg in South Bronx, Police Say

MORRISANIA — A 75-year-old woman was shot in the leg as she walked in the South Bronx Friday, police said.

The woman, who police described as an innocent bystander, was walking near Union Avenue and E. 165th Street around 7:40 p.m. Friday when a man fired a gun and hit her in the right thigh, according to the NYPD.

The victim was taken to Lincoln Hospital while the suspects fled into 993 Union Ave., police said.

Officers described one suspect as a roughly 20-year-old man standing about 5-foot-8 and weighing 170 pounds. He was last seen in a gray sweatshirt, blue jeans and black sneakers with a white stripe.

They described a second suspect as a roughly 29-year-old man standing about 5-foot-10 and weighing 180 pounds who was last seen in dark shorts, a black shirt and black sneakers.
