BOERUM HILL — A Boerum Hill house was broken into through a hatch on the roof last month, police said.
An unknown number of people forced their way into the Bergen Street home overnight between 9 p.m. June 26 and 8 a.m. June 27, according to the police report.
The victim, a 63-year-old man, was sleeping in the residence when the burglary took place, police said. The thieves also tried to enter through a parlor level door, but it had been bolted from the inside and was inaccessible, according to police.
Roughly $1,825 worth of property was taken from the home, including more than $1,000 in construction tools, 25 short-sleeved shirts worth $625, a $40 green duffel bag and a bass guitar valued at $50.
