HARLEM — A man who stopped to urinate in a Harlem park was slashed by another man who confronted him for heeding the call of nature, police say.
A 56-year-old man stopped in Dr. Ronald E. McNair Playground on Lexington Avenue, between East 122 and 123 Streets, to urinate in a bush in the park around 1:40 pm. June 29, police said.
The suspect appeared and confronted the victim for urinating before slashing him on his right cheek with an unknown object and fleeing, police said.
Police canvassed the area, which has NYPD surveillance cameras, but were not able to locate the suspect.
The City Council recently moved to reduce penalties against those who urinate in public.
