FINANCIAL DISTRICT —  Even thieves can't resist bragging on Facebook.

After stealing a briefcase filled with $2,050 in cash from an acquaintance last week, a 28-year-old Brooklyn man took to Facebook to boast, police said.

The alleged thief was riding in a car with the victim, 29, and the briefcase of money on June 21, police said. When his acquaintance parked at Cortlandt Street and Broadway at about 11 a.m., to "perform a customer work order," the man grabbed the briefcase and fled, according to the report.

It was not clear how the men knew each other, or what kind of work the victim did.

Police had not made an arrest as of Thursday.
