BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — Police arrested a man Friday in connection to a fatal shooting in Bedford-Stuyvesant, officials said.

Derrick Nivens, 38, was charged with murder for the death of 46-year-old Robert Thomas, according to police.

On June 15, Nivens, of Bushwick, drove a gunman near MacDougal and Thomas S Boyland streets where the other suspect fired a number of shots at Thomas, detectives said.

Nivens waited for the shooter in the car, according to court documents, and drove away with him.

Thomas had gunshot wounds to his head, chest and extremities, court documents show, and he was taken to Interfaith Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, according to officials.

Police had no further information on the other suspect in the murder.

Attorney information for Nivens was not immediately available. He is due back in court on June 30.
