Man Slashed in the Neck in SoHo, Police Say

SOHO — A man was seriously injured when he was slashed across the neck on West Broadway Friday morning, officials said.

The 55-year-old man, whose name wasn't immediately released, was cut at 285 W. Broadway, near Canal Street, about 3:12 a.m., according to FDNY and NYPD officials.

He was taken to Bellevue Hospital with serious injuries and released later Friday morning, an FDNY spokesman said.

The circumstances of the slashing weren't immediately clear, police said.

The suspect, who can be seen in police footage released Friday morning, fled and wasn't immediately arrested, police said.

He wore a yellow winter jacket, a white T-shirt with black letters, dark pants and carried a large backpack, police said.
