WILLIAMSBURG — A woman whose phone had been snatched by thieves blocked their getaway car and and refused to budge until they returned it, police said.

The two men, who police said were unknown to the victim, sneaked up behind her, grabbed the phone and jumped into a parked black Mercedes to make their escape  at 1:20 p.m. on June 13 at the corner of Leonard and Devoe streets, police said.

The 38-year-old Williamsburg resident stood in front of the thieves' car, demanded her cell phone back and refused to budge, police said.

The victim proved persuasive and the two men eventually surrendered her phone and drove off, police said.

The two men, who are in their 20s, have not been arrested as of Wednesday morning.
