LONG ISLAND CITY — A man stole a package from the lobby of a residential building in Queens earlier this month with a medical device inside worth $25,000, according to the NYPD.

Police say the mail thief entered the building near 28th Street and 41st Avenue shortly before 1 a.m. on June 4, where he swiped the package containing a digital urethroscope, an instrument used for viewing the inside of a person's urethra.

The suspect was caught on surveillance footage. He has brown eyes and black hair, according to police. He was last seen wearing black shoes, jeans and a gray button-down shirt.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
