MANHATTAN — A pedestrian was struck by a delivery truck at Lexington Avenue and East 125th Street Tuesday afternoon, according to the FDNY and witnesses.
The person was hit at the intersection at about 2:36 p.m., a fire department spokesman said.
The truck kept driving through the intersection after striking the person until someone alerted the driver, said Jessica Esquilon, 39.
"Someone took a cane and hit the window," Esquilon added.
The victim was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital, the FDNY said. It was not immediately clear how seriously injured the pedestrian was.
Michael Carey, 55, walks by the intersection each day and said he was "not surprised by the collision.
"Sometimes people just linger in the street. It's not the first time and it's not going to be the last time," Carey said. "Not over here."
The NYPD did not have any immediate information on the crash.
