BUSHWICK — A woman was slashed in the throat while escaping a would-be rapist in Bushwick early Sunday, police said.

The 25-year-old woman was near Wyckoff Avenue and Starr Street just after 5 a.m. Sunday when the man  crept up behind her, placed a sharp object on her throat and told her to lean over, according to police.

She screamed and managed to break free, but the attacker sliced her neck leaving a 4-inch gash during the struggle, police said.

The victim took shelter in a store near the attack scene before being taken to Wyckoff Hospital in stable condition and treated for the wound on her neck, police said.
