Woman Threw Box of PowerBars at Pregnant Equinox Gym Employee, Police Say

COLUMBUS CIRCLE — A pregnant Equinox Gym employee was treated for stomach cramps at the hospital after a woman threw a box of PowerBars at her, the NYPD said.

The 22-year-old woman from the Bronx was working at the gym at 10 Columbus Circle around 12:15 p.m. on June 4 when she got into an argument with a 36-year-old woman from Manhattan, police said.

At some point during the argument, the Manhattan woman threw a box of PowerBar snack bars at the 4-month-pregnant employee, leaving her with a bruise.

The employee was taken to Mount Sinai West Hospital after she started to have stomach cramps, the NYPD said.Police did not say whether the Manhattan woman was a gym patron.

A spokeswoman for the gym did not respond to request for comment.

Police had not arrested anyone in connection with the incident as of Monday.
