PROSPECT HEIGHTS — Police are looking for a man who broke into a commercial van in broad daylight near Washington Avenue and made off with a floor sander.

The robbery took place on Monday, April 25 just after 5 p.m. at the corner of Washington and Bergen Street in Prospect Heights, police said.

Police said the suspect walked up to a parked commercial van, broke one of the windows and removed a floor sander from inside.

The police department released a photograph of the suspect taken from surveillance footage showing a man wearing blue jeans, work boots, a dark-colored baseball cap and a blue sweater.

This is not the first time a commercial van has been the target of a burglary in the area recently.
