Man Grabs iPhone From Woman's Hand But Drops It While Fleeing, Police Say

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS — A man slipped a $200 iPhone out of a woman's hand but dropped the device as he was fleeing the scene, police said.

The victim, a 26-year-old woman, was walking on Pierrepont Street on June 4 at about 8:30 p.m. when she reached the corner at Henry Street, according to the police report.

The thief approached her from behind and placed his hands on her shoulder before taking the cell phone from her hand, police said. 

There was no physical force involved in the incident and the victim did not suffer any injuries, the report said.

But as the thief was escaping, he dropped the phone about 10 feet away from the victim, police said. 

Other notable incidents in the 84th Precinct, according to police, include:

► A $6,000 blue Suzuki motorcycle was stolen overnight on June 5 or 6, according to police. The motorbike was parked on Dean Street near Court Street and secured to an iron planter guard with a heavy U-shaped Kryptonite lock, police said.
