CONCOURSE — A pair of robbers pushed their way inside a man's apartment, and then beat and slashed him in a harrowing daytime robbery during which they threatened to kill him, police said.

The attack happened on May 29 around 3:30 p.m., when a man and woman knocked on the door of their 59-year-old victim's apartment and shoved their way inside when he opened the door, according to the NYPD.

The man then took out a gun, hit the victim in the head with it multiple times and demanded money before pushing him into the bathroom and threatening to kill him, police said.

The female thief handed her partner a knife that he used to try slashing their victim, and she snatched a pair of sunglasses, a cellphone and an unknown amount of cash, police said.

The victim was taken to Bronx Lebanon Hospital with injuries including a deep cut on the back of his head, a burn mark on the left side of his torso and cuts to his middle, index and ring fingers, according to the NYPD.

Video of the robbery shows the two suspects waiting in the hallway and knocking on the apartment door.

Officers described one suspect as a man with a thin mustache standing between 5-feet 4-inches and 5-feet 6-inches tall, weighing 120 pounds and wearing a black baseball hat, dark jeans and a black long sleeved shirt.

They described the other as a woman with braces standing about 5-feet 6-inches tall, weighing 110 pounds and wearing a white shirt, blue jeans and a blue baseball hat.
