THE BRONX — There were “extensive traffic delays” after debris fell onto the Cross Bronx Expressway near the entrance to the Major Deegan Expressway at the start of the Thursday evening rush, officials from the city's Office of Emergency Management said.

Debris including bricks fell onto the road around 5:41 p.m., an FDNY spokesman said. No one was injured, but there was a partial closure on the expressway.

Drivers were advised to consider alternate routes.
