NEW YORK CITY — The L train was hit with "extensive delays" during the Monday evening commute, according to the MTA.

Signal problems caused the service disruption between the Eighth Avenue and Canarsie-Rockaway Parkway stations in both directions, the MTA said.

The agency advised commuters to allow for additional travel times.
