Man Struck in Face With Golf Club on Inwood Sidewalk

INWOOD – A man was seriously hurt after being hit in the face with a golf club Monday night, police said. 

The 33-year-old victim was standing in front of 120 Vermilyea Ave. at approximately 6:10 p.m., when the man approached him with a golf club and struck him in the face, according to sources and police.

The superintendent of the building told DNAinfo New York the victim did not live at the location.

Police said the assailant fled the scene — southbound on Vermilyea Ave. — in a tan or gold-colored Nissan Maxima.

The victim was rushed to Harlem Hospital were he appeared to be in stable condition with a cut on the upper left eye and bridge of his nose, police confirmed.
