QUEENS — Police are looking for a pair of scammers who used a man's personal information to open an account at two jewelry stores and buy nearly $8,000 worth of goods.
The 48-year-old victim reported the crime to the 108th Precinct after one of the suspects entered a Zales store in Long Island on Feb. 16 and spent $5,724 there under the victim's name, according to the NYPD.
The second suspect hit another Zales location in Brooklyn a week later, on Feb. 25, and bought $2,192 worth of jewelry under victim's fraudulent account, police said.
The NYPD released images of the suspects, the first of whom was seen wearing a white shirt, khaki pants and green baseball cap, while the other wore a black coat and hat.
