NOLITA — A free puppet show is coming to Elizabeth Street Garden for one afternoon to do a performance for kids addressing disability issues and bullying.
The puppets in the NYC Kids Project Puppet Show are kid-sized hand and rod characters held by teaching artists who encourage audience participation, garden volunteers said.
The artists will facilitate conversation between the audience and the puppets, allowing the students in the audience to learn lessons about bullying, disabilities and character development directly from the puppets.
The show, which will be held Sat., May 21, at 1:30 p.m., runs between 45 and 55 minutes long and is free. It is open to the public, but specifically recommended for second- through sixth-graders. The garden is handicapped-accessible.
