Teen Beaten Outside Queens High School After Trying to Avoid Fight: NYPD

By Katie Honan | May 11, 2016 6:07pm

FOREST HILLS — A high school student trying to avoid a large fight was hit on the back of the head with a bottle after being jumped by four teens on Tuesday, police said.

The 17-year-old victim was walking home from Forest Hills High School on 110th Street at around 1 p.m. when he saw a group of kids fighting near the school, according to the NYPD.

The fight was steps from the building, on the northeast corner of 110th Street and 66th Avenue.

He tried moving away from the crowd, but four teens left the group to attack him, police said.

They began punching him, and after he fell, one of the teens smashed a bottle on the back of his head, police said.

Police are now looking for four males, approximately 17-years-old, who attacked the victim, who was taken to Elmhurst Hospital.

Department of Education spokeswoman Toya Holness confirmed the incident involving a student, although noted it was not at the school.

“The safety and security of students and staff is our top priority," she said in an email.
