MELROSE — A knife attack in the South Bronx left one man dead Saturday and another in critical condition, police said.

Officers arrived at 363 E. 151st St. about 11:15 p.m. and found 26-year-old Roberto Rodriguez and 30-year-old Lasaro Martinez with stab wounds, according to the NYPD.

Rodriguez was stabbed in his torso and was taken to Lincoln Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Martinez was stabbed in his abdomen and also taken to Lincoln Hospital in critical condition, but he has since been upgraded to stable, police said.

The stabbing was sparked by a fight between several different people, although officers are still trying to determine what sparked the fight itself, according to the NYPD.

At one point during the melee, Rodriguez and Martinez started chasing one of the people who instigated the fight, and he turned around and stabbed both of them, police said.

Police have made no arrests and the investigation is ongoing, according to the NYPD.
