EAST VILLAGE — Dahlia’s Fine Mexican Cuisine has temporarily closed to address conflict surrounding its liquor license, which was revoked months ago when the eatery was caught serving alcohol to dozens of minors.

The joint at 300 E. Fifth St. was busted by the NYPD on Jan. 30 following a 911 call reporting underage drinking in the restaurant. Police showed up to find the premises locked while more than 40 underage patrons, some as young as 15 years old, were served margaritas and mojitos, the New York Post reported at the time.

The raid resulted in an immediate suspension of Dahlia’s liquor license by the State Liquor Authority — but the restaurant continued to serve food with an extensive notice from the SLA plastered in the glass windows.

Four months later, the restaurant management has made the decision to close altogether during the suspension, according new signage in the window, as first reported by EV Grieve.

“We want to inform you that Dahlia’s Restaurant will be closed until our liquor license issue gets fixed and cleared up,” reads the sign, which then encourages patrons to visit sister restaurant Dahlia’s Tapas at 214 Ninth St. and lists a phone number for the spot.

Dahlia's reps could not be reached for comment. Repeated calls by DNAinfo New York to the tapas restaurant were met by a busy signal.
