THE BRONX — MTA crews scrambled overnight to clear debris off the tracks at the Eastchester-Dyre Avenue 5-train stop after a large chunk of the platform gave way Tuesday night, officials said.
The MTA was working to determine what caused the section of the platform to collapse around 7:45 p.m., the FDNY said.
Service was suspended from East 180th Street to Eastchester-Dyre Avenue late Tuesday into Wednesday, but the MTA said trains were running as normal by 5 a.m.
The cause of the collapse was under investigation. No injuries were reported, officials said.
