MANHATTAN — Service was restored on the 1 train between the Chambers Street and South Ferry subway stations after a report of an “unauthorized person on the tracks” Tuesday, the MTA said.

Service was disrupted for about 30 minutes starting at 4:26 p.m., with 2 and 3 trains running local between 34th Street and Chambers Street, the MTA said.

Firefighters called to the station did not find anyone one the tracks, a fire department spokesman said.

Service was restored with residual delays by 4:53 p.m., the MTA said.
