Straphanger Cut Grabbing Knife in 6 Train Fight Near Grand Central: NYPD

MANHATTAN — A man was cut during a fight with another straphanger aboard the 6 train near Grand Central Terminal early Tuesday morning, police said.

The 40-year-old man, whose name wasn't immediately released, was riding a northbound 6 train from Union Square to Grand Central about 3:19 a.m. when he got into an argument with another passenger, an NYPD spokeswoman said.

The second man pulled a knife and the 40-year-old grabbed it by the blade, cutting his hand, police said.

The victim fled the train at Grand Central, police said. He was treated at Bellevue Hospital, where he's listed in stable condition, police said.

The suspect stayed on the train and wasn't immediately arrested, police said.
